Meeting |
We sing songs,
dance a little, shake hands, say Good Morning to our friends,
pledge allegiance to our flag, and do calendar and weather
activities. At Morning Meeting we also read our Morning Message
together. We talk about the day’s events and special
happenings. |

Each child has his
or her own journal for each month. They will start the year
doing "free writing and drawing," copying and illustrating the
Morning Message, and eventually writing his or her own message.

During this time,
we do our letters for the week and participate in activities to

The children will
work in small groups on the computer, book center, listening
center, pocket chart center, ABC games center, read/write the
room centers, play dough center, and writing center. We use
this time to work in the small center groups and to assess
individual needs. |

Children will work
in whole groups, small groups or in teams using hands-on math
manipulatives to learn our math concepts. |

The
children participate in reading a predictable book.
It may include echo reading, choral reading, or fill in

per week. They will participate in making predictions,
