Preschoolers
3 years - 4 years

The Pre-K program at Marina View Preschool is for children ages 3 and 4 years. To be enrolled in this program, the child must be potty trained, their Language skills adequately developed and able to understand and follow directions. The teacher/student ratio in this program is 12:1. All of our Teachers in Pre-K have a full 4-year degree in Education and have raised children of their own.

The emphasis of this program is on providing for the foundational development of a positive self-image, and providing continual, developmentally appropriate cognitive instruction and exploration.  The Pre-K program is fairly structured and academic.  there is a well defined Curriculum including: Academics, outside playground time, music  and movement, Dance and Gymnastics, and foreign language (Spanish) is taught beginning in the 4-year-old class. 

Children have a choice of materials, learn at their own pace, and are encouraged to follow their own interests. The Teacher will show (or direct) the children based on their own natural developmental capabilities and pace.  

The children spend a portion of their day rotating through Learning Centers which are setup in the classroom.  As the children develop socially, physically, and academically, they will start to develop their fine motor skills which are necessary for reading and writing. To assist this process, the Preschool Program also includes pre-writing and pre-reading exercises and classroom activities.
