Located in Laguna Niguel, open to families from nearby communities
MarinaView has one campus, at 25301 Sweet Meadow Lane in Laguna Niguel. We do not have a campus in Aliso Viejo, and we would rather say so plainly. Some families from nearby communities consider MarinaView because they want a private, secluded campus with programs for children from 12 months through kindergarten.
Whether our location works depends on your family's schedule. We suggest reading about the programs below, visiting the campus and asking us anything before you decide. You can also ask about current availability when you contact us.
A whole-child approach to early learning
MarinaView's educational philosophy is to provide a strong, child-centered learning environment that educates the whole child: intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. Here is what that looks like, based on what our programs describe.
Balanced learning
We describe our approach as a healthy balance of developmental and academic learning. Teacher-led and child-initiated activities sit side by side, so children can follow their interests while building readiness skills.
Hands-on learning centers
Classrooms are set up with learning centers for math, art, reading, blocks, manipulatives, social studies and literature, and children move through them as part of the day.
Early literacy and numeracy
Phonics and reading readiness are part of the curriculum, and Jr. Kindergarten and Kindergarten add math, writing and language arts. Parents can ask teachers how these skills are introduced at each age.
Social and emotional growth
Younger children are supported in a setting that emphasizes warmth and security. Toddlers practice sharing and learn to express themselves and resolve differences with words rather than physical expression.
Creative exploration
Art, music and movement are part of the curriculum, along with an introduction to Spanish and enrichment classes in gymnastics and dance.
A path toward kindergarten
Children can move from one program to the next on the same campus. Kindergarten is an all-day program with a class of approximately 15 children, and families can ask how the earlier programs prepare children for it.
Programs for each stage of early childhood
MarinaView serves children from 12 months to 6 years on one campus. Each program has its own age range and daily rhythm, so start with your child's age and read the full description for the details.
Infant Program
Ages 12 to 24 months. The focus is warmth and security, with activities that support sensory, physical and cognitive development. Parents receive a Daily Infant Report, so ask how that communication works when you visit.
Toddler Program
Ages 24 to 36 months, or until potty trained. Children do not need to be potty trained to enroll. Days include art and sensory play, circle time, stories and music, while children practice sharing and expressing themselves with words.
Preschool Program
Ages 2.9 to 4 years. Children must be fully potty trained, with developed language skills and the ability to follow directions. Learning centers, morning circle, music and movement, art, science and an introduction to Spanish fill the week, with a Weekly Preschool Report each Friday.
Jr. Kindergarten
Ages 4 to 5, for children whose fifth birthday falls between September 2 and January 31. Language arts, math, science, phonics and writing are balanced with a developmental approach. Ask us if you are weighing this program against Kindergarten.
Kindergarten
Ages 5 to 6. An all-day program, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with before-school care from 7:00 AM and after-school care until 6:00 PM. Class size is approximately 15 children, and the curriculum includes science, math, Spanish, music, art, geography, phonics and writing.
What you will see when you visit
MarinaView is a private, secluded facility away from traffic. Entry is by keypad, and the main entrance is in full view of the reception area and the Director's office, so parents can see how arrivals are handled. Classroom cameras transmit to monitors in the Director's office.
Outdoors, the school has separate, secured playgrounds for the infant, toddler and Jr. Kindergarten programs, with artificial turf, sand, covered areas, play structures and a bicycle trail for motor skill development.
The Village, a large multi-purpose room, hosts concerts, book fairs, art shows and holiday events for the school community. Teachers sanitize toys and classroom equipment daily, and the school has daily janitorial service.
Photos only go so far. Browse the gallery for a look at everyday life, read the facility page for safety and campus details, then visit in person to see how it feels for your child.
